About Us

Hi, I’m Irena, the owner of Sew Knit Craft. I took over Sew Knit Craft in 2018 from the previous owners when the shop was known as ‘Sew Creative’.

I was taught to knit by my eldest sister when I was 5 and have loved everything to do with crafts ever since. I have recently discovered quilting and have to admit that I am hooked.

I have lived and worked as a solicitor in Cambridge for over 30 years and have always dreamt of owning a craft shop, and when the opportunity presented itself to acquire the business on King Street, I jumped at the idea.

The shop has been at 58 King Street for 7 years and was further down King Street before that. It stocks a wide range of fabrics, sewing machines and wool as well as patterns and general haberdashery. Our staff are a mix of long-timers and new joiners and their vast experience and knowledge will is available to customers.

We love teaching people new skills and there are frequently workshops, evening and day classes, activities for children and demonstration days. 'Meet the expert' days are also planned so that people can come along with anything that they are stuck on and someone can help them out.

Our hope is that the shop is a crafting hub for Cambridge, where people come not only to buy craft materials, but also to chat with friends about their latest projects and be inspired to try new crafts.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Irena
